Anasua Chakrabarti Roy is a Registered Psychologist and Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience. She is accredited by Medicare Australia and NSW Workcover and rebates apply under these schemes. Anasua provides a warm, kind atmosphere and is experienced working with adults and adolescents.  Anasua believes that a strong therapeutic relationship sets the foundation for deeper insight and far-sighted outcomes in psychotherapy. Her collaborative approach and deep listening will ensure you feel heard and understood within a non-judgemental therapeutic space.

Anasua’s Journey: 

Anasua began her career with suicide prevention and worked with institutionalised children removed from parents’ care. She extensively researched and delivered interventions for attachment issues caused due to early childhood trauma and disruptions. 

Anasua spent many years working with those impacted with domestic & family violence including facilitating group support programs.

She also worked intensely with life change situations of all types with women, men and adolescents, including separations, blended families, grief & loss, chronic health issues, career & work-related changes and distress. 

She has particular interest in helping clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, as well as with new parents experiencing difficulties during pregnancy and postnatal period 

Anasua supports individuals with identity crisis and challenges at different stages of life. Anasua cares deeply about your mental health and believes that trust, rapport and holding a safe space in therapeutic relationship are key to progress in one’s recovery and wellbeing. 

Treatment Approach: 

Anasua provides psychological intervention for a range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, complex trauma and relationship difficulties. She tailors psychological interventions based on assessing one’s presenting problems and uses a range of evidence-based therapies including the following therapies:

Anasua has lived in different countries and considers herself as a ‘melting pot’ of cultures. 

In her free time, Anasua enjoys long nature walks, working out in the gym, reading, listening to music and painting. She enjoys watching movies and sports, drinking different flavours of tea, spending time with her family and travelling to new places. She is actively involved in voluntary community service, likes cooking hearty meals and enjoys quiet time in meditation and silence.
